Course Outline:
There are 1 and 2 day courses as well as trainer courses. Courses contain theory and practical sessions. The aim of these courses are to support staff in techniques of de-escalate and communication working with people with challenging behaviour. Will explore the forms of abuse, individuals at risk and legislation, policy and practice. Longer courses, cover partnership working in reporting and recording, legal implications and ways of preventing abuse. Guidelines in-line with the Department of Health “No Secrets Policy”.
Course Outcomes:
Description of abuse and how it manifests within organisations. Understanding legislation, policy and working practice, applying risk assessments, comprehension of precipitating factors of behaviour that challenge. The role and essential elements of PAMOVA. The ways of preventing abuse and apply techniques at relevant time and certain situations.
