Moving & Handling Training

3 Day Moving & Handling /Risk Assessors Course

For Health Care Professionals who are involved with facilitating others in safer moving and handling skills, followed by 1 additional day to maintain and review current practice.
A support and advice help line is available post training for all courses.

1 Day Update/Refresher for Moving and Handling Facilitators

A problem solving workshop day, covering areas of concern raised by the group members on the day or pre-arranged e.g. Legislation, Moving & Handling Issues, Hoisting/Stand Aid, Track Systems etc. This course deals with theory issues a.m. and practical workshop p.m. This course will enable course members to review current practice and adjust to best practice on their return to work.

1 or 2 Day for Carers

It is recommended that a 2 day course for Induction training followed by an annual refresher of 1 day to bring staff up to date and refresh current practice.

- (Babies and Young Children)

2 or 3 Day for Facilitators for Moving & Handling

For Managers and Supervisory Carers who are involved with facilitating others in safer moving and handling skills and strongly recommended a 1 day annual refresher to maintain and review current practice. This course will consider the risk assessment when lifting babies and small children from various services and environments, the risks to the children and the staff will be dealt with in detail to ensure that best practice is adhered to at all times.

1 Day Update/Refresher for Moving & Handling Facilitators

A problem solving workshop day, covering arrears of concern ‘raised’ by the group members on the day or pre-arranged e.g. Legislation, Moving & Handling Issues, Car Transfers, Buggies, off the floor etc. This course deals with theory issues a.m. and practical workshop p.m. This will enable course members to review current practice and adjust to best practice on their return to work.

- (Objects Handling)

2 Day Moving & Handling/Risk Assessors Course

For Managers and Supervisors who are involved in facilitating staff in safe moving and handling skills followed by 1 day annual refresher to maintain and review current practice.

1 Day Moving & Handling of Objects

This course will cover appropriate handling/lifting techniques and cover legislation, spinal awareness, risk assessment and the use of appropriate equipment and techniques to minimize the risk of injury to all concerned.
